Water Baptism
Getting baptized is a significant next step because it outwardly demonstrates what Jesus has already done in our hearts.
Jesus died and rose again so that we could be forgiven of our sins and made right with God.
Throughout the New Testament, after people declared their faith in Jesus, they were baptized in water.
Water Baptism is a public declaration that you are:
(1) A follower of Jesus Christ, (2) Beginning a new life with with Jesus, and (3) Part of God's family.
When we are baptized, going into the water symbolizes that our old life of sin has died and been buried with Christ. As we come out of the water, it symbolizes that we have been raised to new life in Christ.
